In the last album preceding terrestrial existence, ATMOSPHERE reflects on some of the greatest effects that lead to the appearance of terrestrial life. The early atmosphere - aided by prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms in the ocean - accumulates oxygen as a waste product of photosynthesis. For a billion years, this abundant, oxygen-rich environment encourages the transformation of single-celled organisms into multi-cellular organisms. Alongside this, plant life migrates from the ocean and populates the land - prehistoric jungles and rainforests form and act as a melting pot for the evolution of life over a further billion years. As the development of metazoa moves from the sea to the land, the animal kingdom finally takes hold of the ecosystem of the planet.

ATMOSPHERE is a collection of energetic, dancefloor grooves. While still sticking to the project's roots in the kosmische and imbued with a sometimes funky, sometimes melancholic late 80s tone, its nostalgia is more pronounced, utilizing melodic choices shaped by early trance and UK garage with a percussive backdrop influenced by the simplicity and repetition of house music.

The final part of a love letter to my own foundational electronic experience - dedicated to the dancefloor regulars, the bedroom ravers, the sample choppers, the knob tweakers, the pirate radio DJs and recreational drug-takers as much as it is to the atmosphere that makes life possible.
